Hello!
I am Ghasal, a qualified teacher who retrained as a child psychotherapist.
I came across mindfulness during my training and discovered its benefits for mental health and its links to neuroscience.
I created Passing Clouds in 2025, as an after-school club where children get the chance to slow down and develop self-awareness, as well as self-regulation skills.
I am now extending the offer to half-term holiday camps.
Why Mindfulness for Children?
Mindfulness helps children learn to notice their thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations without immediately reacting to them. With regular practice, children can strengthen skills linked to attention, emotional regulation, self-awareness and resilience, giving them more space to pause and choose how they respond when feelings become overwhelming.
The neuroscience explored in mindfulness research suggests that practice engages brain regions associated with attention and executive function, learning and memory, self-awareness and emotional processing. For children, these developing skills can support greater calm, concentration, self-acceptance and social connection—helping them understand their inner world and navigate everyday challenges with more awareness.
